Dunlop congratulates Davi Millsaps, AMA Supercross Lites East Champion |

Buffalo, NY – Dunlop Motorcycle Tires is proud to congratulate Honda Racing’s Davi Millsaps, who wrapped up the 2006 AMA Supercross Lites East Championship with a resounding victory at the final event at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas on Saturday, April 1.
For the 18-year old from Cairo, Georgia, it is his first professional AMA title. Millsaps entered the final round of Eastern Division Lites competition with the series’ points lead and needed to finish 17th or better to win the championship. But Millsaps was not going to sit back in this race. Instead, the youngster charged into the lead on the third lap. In characteristic fashion, he never let up and took the checkered flag with a comfortable 3.676-second lead.
“I just want to thank American Honda for backing me up on this one, and Dunlop Tires…” said Millsaps. “I want to thank all the fans, my mom, my mechanic Carlos… everyone out there that got me this number one plate, thank you!” Of his chances to repeat as the East/West Supercross Shoot Out Champion in Las Vegas on May 6, he said, “I’m hoping to make it on top this season again, hopefully the East coast sweeps it.” Millsaps is anxious to throw a leg over the CRF450R and finish out the season competing in the marquis Supercross class. Then it’s on to the Motocross Lites outdoor season slated to begin on May 21 in Sacramento at the Hangtown Motocross Classic.
