15:20 - With a Ducati, Beauty is More Than Skin Deep
Okay, so it’s still raining here in Daytona, and people are packing up for the day. That didn’t stop us from getting a very close-up look at a very trick factory-only cosmetic treatment. Yes, that is indeed all carbon-fiber bodywork on Anthony’s bikes. That’s the way the bikes came from bella Italia, then the Austin boys dressed it up with chrome-sticker numbers and logos. Elegant in its simplicity and slightly rough-edged finish, this is the ultimate one-off look.
We think this is a very tasty treatment, as do some of the crew members. However, the advent of the regular season will see this bodywork painted over in more conventional racing cosmetics; the team simply did not have enough time to send the bodywork out prior to the Dunlop Daytona Tire Test. In other words, if you weren’t here this week, you’ll never see this first-hand. So enjoy the photos.
And should you desire the carbon-fiber look for your own bike—well, you can always dream, right?
