13:40 - The Gift of Time
You can never have too much prep time: That’s a basic tenet in racing. However, today’s rainstorm has produced a lull in the usual frenzy of activity surrounding the Dunlop Daytona Tire Test.
In fact, the entire Kawasaki factory team had the rare opportunity to sit down and enjoy a lunch break today—a luxury virtually unknown on Big Monday. Team Manager Mike Preston said, “We’ve got just about everything handled; not much work to do on the bikes. We’re ready to get out on the track and do some testing.”
This rare time of inactivity did, however, give us a chance to get some detailed photographs of the Team Green machines belonging to Eric Bostrom (32), Tommy Hayden (22) and Tony Meiring (56).
