09:45 - Dunlop Daytona Tire Test Goes Live
We are live here in Daytona Beach, Florida, for the www.dunlopmotorcycle.com Website coverage of the December Dunlop Daytona Tire Tests. The day dawned gray but dry, with a heavy overcast. However, just as a few bikes began their very first laps around the course shortly after 9:00, a light rain began to fall, putting a halt to track time.
The factory teams from American Honda, Kawasaki USA, Yoshimura Suzuki and Yamaha USA are all present, along with the Hondas of Erion Racing and Bruce Transportation, Austin Ducati, plus the Attack Suzuki crew. The race teams and the Dunlop tire crew arrived over the weekend and began their setup routines and completed the initial fitment of tires.
We will be taking advantage of this rain-induced hiatus to make our rounds through the Daytona garages and get a glimpse of what's new in terms of machinery and personnel. Check back soon for our next update.
