10:30 - Tuesday Turns Into a Tease
The hard rains seem to have passed here at Daytona, but Tuesday is turning into a big tease as occasional sprinkles roll through just as the ground begins to dry.
In the Yamaha garage, as everywhere else, everyone is ready to get down to business. “We’re all set to go,” said Yamaha Road Race Team Manager Tom Halverson. “We just need a dry track.” Standing as silent proof, the YZF-R6 Yamahas of Aaron Gobert (96) and Damon Buckmaster (6) sat waiting on their stands, perfectly prepped.
Taking advantage of the rare calm produced by this weather-induced hiatus, Mike Buckley, Dunlop’s Vice President of Motorcycle Tires, stopped by the Yamaha garage to talk things over with Halverson and Keith McCarty, Yamaha Racing Manager.
